Pick Your Poison

Everyday we face decisions - thousands of decisions. What to wear? What to say? What to do? And many other questions that impact our lives in a simple, yet complex way. Each day we face decisions that will impact our lives as we know them. We get a choice. We have the chance to choose many other the things we will do during the duration of our life time. Some choices are simple, but some choices are more difficult to make.

Each day we have a chance to choose if it is going to be a good day, or if it is going to be a bad day. We get to pick our poison. We can choose to rejoice in what the Lord has made, or we can hide away and grumble about the few choices we are not allowed to make. We do not get to choose our families. We do not get to choose when death occurs. We do not get to choose when we are sick or injured. We have the opporunity to choose so many things; however, many times I find myself choosing to focus on the things that I do not have a choice in. As American citizens, we take the choices we have for granted. We have the choice to worship Jesus Christ, attend school, eat a meal, live in a good community, help those around us, and so much more. So why do we focus on all of the bad things that happen in our lives? Why do we focus on the things we cannot change? Why don't we focus on the good things instead? Why do we call ourselves blessed, and then worry about tomorrow? I want to challenge each of you to pick your poison. You get to choose whether or not it will hurt you, or allow you to thrive. You have a choice. So pick your poison, and choose wisely.
